Conductor Giordano Bellincampi
Violin Inmo Yang
Mendelssohn Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage
Bruch Violin Concerto No.1
Schumann Symphony No.4
Giordano Bellincampi steers Mendelssohn’s ship into safe harbour, with a trumpet fanfare heralding the final arrival.
South Korean violinist Inmo Yang returns for Bruch’s First Violin Concerto — a captivating and infectious blend of romance and Gypsy vivacity. It was an instant hit at its premiere in 1866 and is still the composer’s most popular and enduring work.
It is followed by a masterpiece of early Romanticism. Schumann embedded his wife Clara’s name into the music of his lithe and (unsurprisingly) passionate Symphony No.4.
Please note: This concert is on a Wednesday night
