Loopy Tunes (Preschool) Music are Christchurch-based sister music duo, Siu Williams-Lemi and Leah Williams-Partington. With ancestral links to Ngāpuhi and the friendly islands of Tonga, the sisters bring a super-fun cultural vibe to the children’s music world and are recognised for their reorua/bilingual Māori and Pasifika children’s waiata, sung in their beautifully harmonious style.
They started in children’s music around 16 years ago through a weekly outreach preschool music programme they helped create. In 2019, the sisters recorded and released their debut 13-track children’s music album, Kākāriki: Simply Us and to date have released over 180 waiata/songs! Their latest album offering, released in April 2025, is a collection of Matariki-inspired waiata, entitled, Mā: Matariki for Tamariki.
In 2026 they received the NZ on Air Best Primary Song for their waiata, ‘Feed the Stars’ (Hautapu Song). This is in addition to the three awards they won in the 2025 Aotearoa Children’s Music Awards.
The duo are so grateful for the busy, but exciting times ahead. Thankfully, they LOVE what they do and can’t imagine doing anything else!
