Edward Smith

Edward Smith is a lyric-bass from the Waikato and is currently studying towards his Masters in Opera at Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where he learns from Mark Schnaible. Ed has recently performed roles including Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with the NZYOA, Caronte in Curtis’ production of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, and Theseus in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This year at Curtis, he’s preparing to sing Rodomonte in Haydn’s Orlando Paladino. Edward is an alum of the New Zealand Opera School and an Associate Artist of The Aotearoa New Zealand Opera Studio.
