William Hanfling

William is Sub-principal 2nd violinist of the Auckland Philharmonia and member of the Jade String Quartet. Received B.Mus.(Hons) and M.Mus. from The Uni­ver­sity of Auck­land, with teacher Mary O’Brien. Continued studies in the UK with Dr Christopher Rowland at The Royal North­ern Col­lege of Music, receiving postgraduate performance degrees. He worked for a while as a freelance musician in the UK.

In his spare time William enjoys mountain biking and tennis, but mostly very busy looking after one year old triplet daughters.
