Nicholas Forbes
Organ
Nicholas Forbes is an Auckland-based organist and conductor with a strong commitment to organ performance and education in Aotearoa. He is Organist at King’s College (Ōtāhuhu), Director of Music at St Matthew-in-the-City, and a trustee of the Auckland Town Hall Organ Trust. A former winner of the New Zealand Organ Association’s Performance Award, he has performed with the Auckland Philharmonia and Auckland Youth Orchestra, and appeared in masterclasses with Dame Gillian Weir and Colin Walsh. Originally from Christchurch, where he was Sub-Organist at Christ Church Cathedral, he studied at the University of Auckland under Dr John Wells and James Tibbles.
