Matu Ngaropo

Matu Ngaropo is a New Zealand Māori actor, singer and stage performer working across film, television and theatre. He is best known for his acclaimed portrayal of George Washington in the Australian production of Hamilton, alongside standout performances as William Shakespeare in &Juliet and in productions including A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Lion King.

On screen, Matu joined the core cast of Bust Up and appears in the feature film Sgt. Haane, following roles in Whina and Korero Mai. A versatile performer across musical theatre, classical works and screen productions, Matu continues to be one of Aotearoa's most accomplished and dynamic talents.
