Juli Kim
Violin

Korean violinist Juli Kim has performed with professional orchestras in South Korea, the United States and New Zealand. From 2022 to 2025, she served as a rotating tutti violinist with the Seocho Philharmonia Orchestra and as Principal Second Violin of the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed with various professional orchestras in Korea.
An active orchestral musician, she has appeared as an orchestral player at the Tongyeong International Music Festival, the Fukuyama International Music Festival and the Seoul Arts Center International Music Festival.
She has participated in professional training and fellowship programs, including the Korean Symphony International Orchestra Academy in 2021 and the Auckland Philharmonia Fellowship in 2025, where she became the first musician to receive consecutive fellowship offers and completed an extended eight-month program.
Juli earned both her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory, where she studied with Nicholas Kitchen and Soovin Kim, and received merit-based scholarships during her undergraduate and graduate studies. During her time at NEC, she participated in the Borromeo String Quartet Beethoven String Quartet Seminar and performed with the NEC Philharmonia and Symphony orchestras.
Prior to her studies in Boston, she attended Sunhwa Arts School in Seoul, South Korea, and later studied at the University of Oregon School of Music in the United States, where she worked with Kathryn Lucktenberg in the Community Education Program.
Her additional festival appearances include the Académie Internationale d’Été de Nice and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival and She has participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Boris Garlitsky, Olivier Charlier, Patrice Fontanarosa, Jaap Schröder and Ryu Goto.
