Jennifer was born and educated in Wellington, NZ. She started flute at the age of 11 and gained a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Victoria University of Wellington. Further qualifications include the following diplomas in Flute Performance: LTCL, FTCL, LRSM. Early professional experience included Wellington Sinfonia and NZSO.

Jennifer joined the Auckland Philharmonia (then the Auckland Regional Orchestra) in 1983. A year of study leave in London and Europe was taken in 1986. Lessons and Masterclasses were undertaken with leading European flutists plus many concert attendances of leading European orchestras. A subsequent study trip was taken to London plus an Auckland Philharmonia Study Grant for Piccolo specialisation in Australia. She has also attended and performed at various Flute Conventions in NZ and Australia.

Jennifer has performed concerti for both flute and piccolo. Chamber music has been an active interest since University, in particular the combinations of flute and guitar, flute and harp.

She has performed with various orchestras, including Fukuoka Symphony, Auckland Chamber Orchestra and Bach Musica.

Jennifer has taught flute in many schools and is an active member of the APOPS programme. She currently teaches at Diocesan School for Girls and University of Auckland (Piccolo).

Her relaxation activities include running, gardening, cafes, books.
