John Ritchie - Suite No 1 for Strings
John Ritchie’s ‘Suite No.1 for Strings’ (1956) was dedicated to Alex Lindsay, founder and conductor of the Alex Lindsay String Orchestra. The movements are titled Allegro, Air, Intrada and Fugue.
The suite is heard in this performance by the strings of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Blendulf back in April at the Auckland Town Hall.
