Love our orchestra and want to know more about how your business can work with us? With options ranging from VIP hosting for your clients at a concert, through to a platinum level sponsorship, we develop tailored partnerships based on your businesses’ requirements to align your brand with the musical heart of Auckland. Find out more in this Q&A with Colleen Edwards, Auckland Philharmonia’s Corporate Relations Manager

What are some of the ways that businesses can work with the Auckland Phil?

There are many options, from VIP hosting at our concerts for your clients and staff, or hiring our musicians to play at your next event, to partnering with us to support our music education initiatives, or becoming a concert or series partner. This can be a one-time concert or activity, a longer-term relationship or a contra partnership. It’s also possible to host a ensemble concert and Q&A in your own business venue – a great option for a networking event or to showcase a new premises.

This is by no means a complete list of how we can work with your business – we’re open to any ideas you have! If you’re interested in finding out more, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Is it possible to develop a tailored corporate partnership and how do you go about this?

We love tailoring a package that reflects true partnership, creating opportunity for the orchestra while meeting the marketing and community engagement goals of a business. Our team embraces a collaborative and responsive approach, open to our partner’s suggestions and ideas but equally content to provide a smorgasbord of options to choose from. We'll help you to find a package that promotes your business best and achieves your varied objectives; whether that be personally connecting with Auckland communities or being the headlining partner of a large year-round marketing campaign.

What are the benefits to businesses of working with the orchestra?

Where to begin?!

A partnered affiliation with a beloved Auckland arts institution is priceless – building trust, reputation and market awareness. In addition, our concert partners are included in the orchestra’s broad marketing campaigns inclusive of print, digital and targeted audience communications. Our education partners have a visible presence in our work in the community, including with our engagement with over 55 schools and 20,000 young people and their whānau.

All our partners enjoy being a member of a business community and network that is passionate about creating space for art in our communities – we host partner networking events, showcase our partners’ spaces in showroom and donor events, and our partners can connect regularly with other supporters each week in the VIP hosting space at concerts. Often our professional musicians will play at events that our partners are hosting or our partners will run activations at events that we are hosting. Our partners can also join us as our guests at our Auckland Town Hall concerts that they are supporting – a beautiful night out at the orchestra is a wonderful way to create staff engagement.

Through their support for the orchestra, all our partners contribute to a vibrant Auckland arts scene and city centre.

How do corporate partnerships support the Auckland Phil, music in Aotearoa, and the wider community?

Our partnership family ensures that we can continue to produce over 60 live concerts a year, be active with music education in over 55 Auckland schools, provide mentoring for aspiring musicians, host community events like our Community Bash and Discovery concerts, and serve a growing audience who share a passion for music.

As a charity, what we do through our Learn & Participate music education programme would not be possible without the generous support of New Zealand businesses that recognise the value of music and music education in our communities. To get a concert on the stage, musicians into schools, and deliver pathway programmes for aspiring musicians, relies on both financial sponsorship and contra support - such as assistance with media, design, food and beverage, professional services, gifted space and transport.

We love it when our partners introduce us to their networks and communities, widening an awareness and love for the orchestra and creating connection for additional support.
