Featuring the effervescent vocals of Jackie Clarke, accompanied by Auckland’s professional orchestra and the National Youth Theatre Children’s Chorus, this magical concert will be barks and laughs a minute. Reuben Brown, the talented 2025 New Zealand Assistant Conductor-in-Residence, will conduct the Auckland Phil as they perform Jan Bolton’s brilliant musical creation of Lynley Dodd’s treasured stories.
Jackie Clarke is delighted to present this magical concert in Tāmaki Makaurau.
“It’s an absolute blast to sing these iconic stories featuring Hairy Maclary and all his rapscallion canine pals. I’m especially pleased that Scarface Claw and Slinky Malinki get a cameo too, because after all what is a dog without a cat!! The stories of Hairy Maclary never fail to amuse and delight, so it's wonderful to be able to add live music to the mix to entertain the tamariki of Auckland and their favourite grownups,” she says.
