Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO) has announced an artist change to The New Zealand Herald Premier Series: Cityscapes, taking place on Thursday 5 March at Auckland Town Hall.
Maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto will join the APO to conduct the concert, featuring a programme of Jennifer Higdon’s City Scape: river sings a song to trees, Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, and Vaughan Williams’ A London Symphony.
Prieto is an APO favourite, having conducted the orchestra previously in 2014, 2016 and 2018. He will also conduct the orchestra’s Great Classics: Love Stories concert in August this year.
Prieto replaces the previously advertised Robert Spano as conductor for this concert, who has had to travel back to the US for a family emergency. APO wishes him well and looks forwarding to hosting him in Auckland in future.
