Zach Hislop

Zach Hislop, born in Austin, Texas, began his double bass studies at the University of Colorado where he earned his Bachelor of Music under Dr. Paul Erhard. He continued his education in New York City, studying privately with Rex Surany of the Metropolitan Opera. He then completed his Master of Music and Graduate Certificate with David Moore at the University of Southern California.

Currently, Zach holds a double bass position with the Long Beach Symphony and has performed with distinguished ensembles such as the San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Santa Barbara Symphony, and Opera Santa Barbara.

Zach’s recent festival appearances include the Aspen Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, and the Wabass Institute.
