National Youth Theatre
Performers

The National Youth Theatre is New Zealand's premier musical theatre training programme for young people aged 7-21. Changing lives from the stage for over 20 years.
What makes NYT stand out from the other musical theatre training schools is that NYT is open to all without audition. NYT 's performing arts training programmes include workshops, holiday programmes, two full-scale musical theatre productions at the Aotea Centre, and a short 10 to 12 week programmes & performances at the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch, Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau and Clarence Street Theatre in Hamilton.
Within an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, NYT's professional theatre mentors provide unique opportunities for young performers to be part of a major theatrical production whilst inspiring them to have fun, build confidence, and develop essential capabilities.
And through NYT's Outreach programme, they not only provide full scholarships for a large number of deserving students to join the cast, but also reach new audiences by presenting schools’ performances and partnering with deserving schools to fully fund their attendance at those shows.
Whilst some will be inspired to pursue a career in the theatre, every child benefits from an experience which enables them to confidently take the stage and happily interact with their peers whilst developing the skills for well rounded lives.
You can see the National Youth Theatre in action with the Auckland Philharmonia on Saturday 26 July at Hairy Maclary's Greatest Hits
