Louis Schwizgebel has been described by The New York Times as an “insightful musician.” He is praised repeatedly for his poise, elegance, imagination, expressive lyricism and crystalline articulation.
Schwizgebel performs with major orchestras including the City of Birmingham Symphony, Orchestre National de France, Frankfurt Radio, Oslo Philharmonic, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and Vienna Symphony collaborating with conductors such as Edward Gardner, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Thierry Fischer, Lahav Shani, Robin Ticciati, Elim Chan and Vasily Petrenko.
Schwizgebel studied at the Juilliard School and London’s Royal Academy of Music. In 2012 he won second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition and in 2013 he became a BBC New Generation Artist.
