Lauren Bennett is a New Zealand violinist and a recent graduate from Yale University, completing a Master of Music in 2019 studying with Syoko Aki. Lauren graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours in 2017, studying under Dimitri Atanassov and Andrew Beer.

Since her concerto debut in 2010 she has played as soloist with many orchestras in New Zealand, including the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Bach Musica New Zealand and the University of Auckland Symphony Orchestra.

Lauren has won all the major chamber music competitions in New Zealand, including the NZCT Chamber Music Contest twice and the Pettman/ROSL Arts Chamber Music Scholarship.

Notable performances include performing as soloist with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in their ‘Settling the Score’ concert in 2015, a concert tour with her string quartet 'Geist' throughout China, and a concert tour throughout the UK as part of the Tasman Duo, including performances at St. Martin-in-the-Fields and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Lauren is a prizewinner at the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition, the Carl Flesch Akademie Masterclasses and the Auckland University Graduation Gala Concerto Competition.

She has played with the Philharmonia Orchestra (London) and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
