Jun Märkl
Conductor
Jun Märkl is Music Director of the Taiwan National and Indianapolis symphony orchestras, Chief Conductor of the Residentie Orchestra of The Hague, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Oregon Symphony. He has served as Director of the Orchestre National de Lyon, the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Basque National Orchestra of San Sebastian.
Märkl guest conducts the world’s leading ensembles, including the Philadelphia and Cleveland orchestras, and the Chicago, Boston, Bavarian Radio and WDR Cologne symphonies. In 2012 he was honoured with the French Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
