Dominic Jacquemard

Originally from New Plymouth, Dominic Jacquemard joins the Auckland Philharmonia from Orchestra Wellington where he held the position of Principal Timpani. He has also performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. In the field of early music, Dominic has performed on historical timpani with a number of ensembles including the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century.
Dominic Jacquemard received a Bachelor's degree from the New Zealand School of Music under Leonard Sakofsky and Laurence Reese, before moving to Amsterdam to study a Master's degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the tutorship of Nick Woud, Tomohiro Ando, Bence Major and Mark Braafhart, with support from Creative New Zealand. He is an alumnus of the Music Academy of the West and the NZSO National Youth Orchestra.
