Amalia Hall

Violin

Celebrated by The Strad for her “blazing insight and dazzling virtuosity”, New Zealand violinist Amalia Hall enjoys an exhilarating career as international soloist, concertmaster of Orchestra Wellington, and violinist of NZTrio. Since her solo debut with the Auckland Philharmonia aged 9, Amalia’s career has flourished across the world, having won the top prize at five international competitions. In 2024 she appeared as Guest Concertmaster of Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, alongside soloist Martha Argerich, and has recently been named Co-Principal Guest Concertmaster of the Macao Orchestra. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, Amalia currently plays the c.1700 Vincenzo Rugeri ‘Baron Knoop’ violin.

You can see Amalia Hall live with the Auckland Philharmonia on Thursday 2 April at Boléro.
