The Auckland Philharmonia Fellowship Programme has been a wonderfully rewarding experience both professionally and personally. It was the perfect bridge for me to transition from being a fresh graduate to a professional working musician

- Begonia Chan, 2022 Fellow (Cello)

The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestral Fellowship is designed to bridge the gap between tertiary training and the professional orchestral environment by providing real-life experiences to rehearse and perform with the Auckland Philharmonia. Fellows perform in a large variety of concerts, receiving lessons and support from members in their section, and gaining invaluable insight into the life of a professional orchestral musician.

Auditions will be held on 12 March 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand and successful Fellows will be expected to start mid-April 2025. The programme will consist of full-time work, concluding at the end of July 2025.

Fellows must be available for the entire duration of the programme.

Two positions are available each year to post-graduate level string players aged 30 and under wishing to take their orchestral performance standards and experience to the next level.

All applicants must provide proof of their right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand.
