Auckland Philharmonia in Schools Programme

Auckland Philharmonia in Schools is a bespoke music programme for schools in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, offering a range of opportunities for students to create, access, learn and enjoy music!

  • Auckland Phil musicians visit your school to coach your students and ensembles
  • Available via our AKO or WHAKATAPOKO membership
  • Composition mentoring and recording is available via our HANGA membership
  • Mentoring is provided in blocks of 10 or 20 hours
  • Minimum session time is 1.5 hours
  • We send an ensemble to your school to give a 1 hour interactive live performance in your school!
  • Your students see and hear orchestral instruments up close, and can ask our musicians all about their instruments and experiences.
  • Available via our NGAHAU or WHAKATAPOKO membership.
Meet Our Ensembles
  • Students attend an Auckland Philharmonia dress rehearsal, followed by a Q&A with the conductor, guest soloist and an orchestra musician
  • Schools received a bespoke study guide in advance of the event
  • Bus transport is organised by Akl Phil and the cost is subsidised
  • Available via ALL memberships
  • Recommended for NCEA Music Students
