Get excited for the Auckland Philharmonia’s upcoming Opera in Concert performance of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde and join us for Phil Opera Fest!
Phil Opera Fest was an educational, engaging, free and fun celebration of all things Tristan und Isolde and Wagner.
We began on Wednesday 31 July with a fascinating Wagner Lecture, presented by Dr David Chisholm, Head of Music at the University of Auckland. Enticingly titled, I Love You to Death: Sex and Consequence in Tristan und Isolde.
Community singers were then invited to get involved with a Sunday Singalong with Wagner and learn the famous Wedding March from Wagner's Lohengrin in this free event with NZ Opera! Led by a conductor and accompanied by a pianist and a super squad of pro-opera singers.
Phil Opera Fest culminates with Auckland Philharmonia’s Opera in Concert production of Wagner’s epic opera, Tristan und Isolde. This event is ticketed, succumb to your desires and book now, before it’s too late….
