Auckland Philharmonia 2026 Season — Now on Sale!

A new way to hear music at Auckland Town Hall

Resonate Health has partnered with Auckland Philharmonia and Auckland Live to introduce Auracast at Auckland Town Hall, helping make live performances more accessible for people with hearing loss.

What is Auracast?
Auracast is a new generation of Bluetooth technology that allows a venue to send its audio directly to compatible hearing aids, earbuds and other listening devices. Instead of relying only on sound travelling across the room through background noise and challenging acoustics, you can connect directly to the venue’s audio broadcast.

Auracast Quick Guide

  • Before you start: make sure your hearing aids are charged, switched on and connected to your phone or hearing-aid app.
  • How to connect: Look for the Auracast logo, a QR code or instructions at the venue.
  • Adjust the volume: After you connect, start with a comfortable volume and adjust it as needed.
  • Disconnect after the show: When you leave the venue, choose Leave, Stop listening or Disconnect through the app. This ends
the Auracast stream but does not unpair your hearing aids from your phone

Ways to connect to an Auracast broadcast

Scan a QR code

  1. Open your phone camera or hearing aid app.
  2. Point the camera at the venue’s Auracast QR code.
  3. Select the Auckland Town Hall broadcast and tap Join.

Use your hearing aid app

  1. Open your hearing aid app.
  2. Search for: Auracast / Broadcast Audio / Find Audio Stream.
  3. Select the Auckland Town Hall broadcast and tap Join.

Using your Android phones settings

  1. Open your phones settings
  2. Click on Connected devices / Bluetooth / Nearby audio streams.
  3. Search for available broadcasts.
  4. Select the Auckland Town Hall broadcast and tap Join.

Use a venue listening device
If a compatible listening device is available at the venue, follow the instructions provided or ask a member of staff for help.

Having trouble connecting?
If you cannot find the broadcast straight away, check that Bluetooth is turned on and refresh the list of available broadcasts.

Names and menus vary between hearing aid brands and phones, so it may help to practice at home or with your audiologist before attending an event.

Remember that an Auracast transmission provides the venue’s audio feed; you can still use your hearing-aid controls to adjust your overall listening comfort.
