James Ehnes is among the worlds most sought-after musicians. Recent orchestral highlights include the Royal Concertgebouw, Tonhalle Zürich, London Philharmonic, NHK Symphony, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony and Cleveland orchestras. Ehnes’s discography includes two Grammys, three Gramophone Awards and twelve Junos. In 2021, Ehnes was Gramophone’s Artist of the Year.
We are so fortunate to have him join us for a masterclass opportunity in Auckland in between his two performances with Auckland Philharmonia at the Ehnes & Bellincampi and Brahms 3 concerts. At this free masterclass, three of the most promising young violinists from the University of Auckland School of Music will perform for Ehnes and receive feedback on their playing in return.
