Meet the Artist - Yeyeong Jenny Jin

The Friends are delighted to host Yeyeong Jenny Jin, the 2023 winner of the Michael Hill

International Violin Competition. She has also won top prizes at the 2022 Zhuhai International Violin Competition and the 2020 Stulberg International String Competition.

Yeyeong Jenny was born in Seoul, Korea. At the age of two, while most of us were grappling with walking and talking, Yeyeong Jenny started learning the violin! Only seven years later, this musical prodigy began studies with Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.

In conversation with Jackie Wilkinson, Yeyeong Jenny will relay to us her incredible journey to date as a 21st century global musician balancing soloist commitments, competitions, chamber music recitals, study, travel, and at the same time safeguarding her very special Domenico Montagnana violin, circa 1735.
