Meet the Artist - Rob Ashworth

The Friends are delighted to welcome back Robert Ashworth to share his music and stories. As a soloist, Principal Viola for Auckland Philharmonia, and member of our favourite string quartet, ‘Jade’, Robert is well known and loved by the Friends.

Robert arrived in New Zealand in 2003, via England and Canada. Luckily for us his expected one-year sojourn turned into a lot more. While based in NZ he has been guest-principal viola for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Australian World Orchestra. He has also worked with the NZSO, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and toured with various groups in Europe, North America, and Japan.
