Meet the Artist - Auckland Phil Oboes & Tim Dodd

The Friends look forward to hearing from an oboe trio featuring Auckland Philharmonia players, Bede Hanley, Katie Danford and Kira Shiner, who will include in their programme the F major trio by Joseph Triebensee.

In conversation with Jackie Wilkinson will be Tim Dodd, RNZ producer for Auckland Phil’s mainstage concert recordings and for William Dart’s ‘New Horizons’ programme.

Tim hails from Dunedin, has a degree in physics, and worked as a freelance musician playing bassoon with Wellington and Dunedin orchestras, and the piano with Flying Nun band The Verlaines. He began working for RNZ in 1990 on ‘The Concert Programme’ in Wellington.

Tim has recently retired from RNZ after a stellar 35-year career.
