Have you ever wondered what goes on “under the lid”? This is your chance to find out! The Friends look forward to hearing from Glenn Easley, piano technician, in conversation with Jackie Wilkinson for our August 1st MTA.
Glenn has been a piano technician for 40 years after his training in London at Steinway Hall. He has tuned pianos across the globe and for well over 25,000 recordings and concerts. We are very fortunate that Glenn now lives in Auckland where he runs the New Zealand arm of Global Piano Services and coordinates all of GPS’s work across Europe, Asia, South American and Australasia.
Glenn also provides his technical expertise to the pianos at the University of Auckland, The Auckland Town Hall, and for the Auckland Philharmonia.
Following Glenn’s interview, a trio of Aspiring Artists from the University of Auckland School of Music will provide us with live music. Trio Mélange consist of pianist Jesse Oh, violist Irene Kim, and oboist Milli Manins (who is well known to the Friends).
