High school students are invited to the Auckland Town Hall to experience a 90 minute, narrated performance by the full orchestra, bringing your music curriculum to life!
This year we explore how various composition techniques and devices are used to create a musical piece. The programme includes Richard Strauss’ Oboe Concerto with soloist David Zhu, Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers, Mozart’s Jupiter, Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1, a new work by our Young Composer-in-Residence Grace Wellik and the full performance of Compose Yourself! by James Stephenson.
