High school students are invited to the Auckland Town Hall to experience a 90 minute, narrated performance by the full orchestra, bringing your music curriculum to life!
This year we explore how various composition techniques and devices are used to create a musical piece. The programme includes R. Strauss’ Oboe Concerto with soloist David Zhu, Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker, Mozart’s Symphony No.41 'Jupiter', Bizet’s Carmen: Suite No.1, a new work by our Young Composer-in-Residence Grace Wellik and the full performance of James Stephenson's showcase Compose Yourself!
