The Auckland Philhamonia Orchestral Fellowship programme is designed to bridge the gap between tertiary training and the professional orchestral environment.

Who can get it?
Two to three positions are available each year to postgraduate-level string players aged 30 and under. Positions are granted to musicians wishing to take their orchestral performance standards and experience to the next level.

The Auckland Philharmonia Fellows rehearse and perform with the orchestra in a diverse range of concerts, providing you with genuine experiences as a professional musician and increasing your network with Auckland’s orchestra. This programme has proved immense success, with alumni of the programme now having full-time positions with the Auckland Philharmonia.
Fellows Recieve:
- 100 calls and a per call payment
- 12 lessons from string sectional principals
- A stipend
How can I apply?
Applicants will need 10-15 minutes of repertoire prepared for the audition. Please click the Audition Repertoire button to view what repertoire you are required to perform for your instrument.

- A Cover Letter
- Proof of your right to work in New Zealand
The position is yearlong, but we are happy to work around other commitments you may have. Applicants must be available to begin their Fellowship by 5 June at the latest. The Auckland Philharmonia does not offer relocation costs for Australian applicants.
