Salina Fisher - Rainphase

The final Resound film from our series of works by composing wahine in celebration of Suffrage 125 is an Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra performance of Salina Fisher’s ‘Rainphase’ at the APO’s ‘A Woman’s Place’ concert last November. This storied work, winner of the SOUNZ Contemporary Award in 2016, summons a soundscape suggested to the composer by a Wellington deluge. Conductor Tianyi Lu leads the APO at the Auckland Town Hall.

We recently welcomed Salina back to New Zealand following the completion of her Masters degree at Manhattan School of Music and we look forward to filming her new work for the APO this November.

Audio recorded by RNZ Concert.
Film funded by NZ On Air.
